Austrian Levant 5s red postal stationery used in 1884, which was altogether unusual since this type of postcard was officially in use only until the end of 1881, sent locally within Greece, from Syros to Athens, and accepted by the Greek Post as a valid postal sending on its own, although such cards were never intended to be used for domestic mail within Greece, a totally unusual and probably unique postal history item in superb, fault-free condition, accompanied by 1991 Enzo Diena certificate of authenticity, most fascinating. |
