Austria 1857 small folded letter sent from Triest to St. Petersburg, Russia and bearing two singles of the first issue 9kr blue of type IIIb on machine-made paper Michel no. 5Ya, both with good to large margins all around and both tied by nice strikes of the Triest c.d.s. in black dated “26/6”, transit postmark on the back, very good condition throughout and accompanied by 2009 Dr. Ferchenbauer certificate of authenticity, a rare first-issue cover to an uncommon destination. | € 1000 | € 850 | Bidding closed |

Austria 1860 folded cover sent from Triest to Geneva, Switzerland and exhibiting a rare three-colour franking of the second Austrian issue consisting of a 3kr black of type Ia Michel no. 11I Ia together with the 10kr brown and 15kr blue of type II Michel nos. 14II and 15II, all of them tied by Triest c.d.s. in black dated “14/2”, the certificate mentions a small internal tear on the 3kr stamp due to the pressure applied when cancelling it, however this is of little consequence in respect to the rarity of this superb cover which is otherwise fault-free and quite fresh, 2005 Tilo Rismondo certificate of authenticity accompanies, a great item and a very “exhibitable” one indeed. | € 3000 | € 2400 | Make an offer |

Austria 1864 folded cover sent from Triest to Foligno, Italy and bearing a very rare franking consisting of a strip of three of the 2kr perf. 14 Michel no. 24, showing a particularly strong shade of yellow together with a 15kr brown perf. 9½ Michel no. 34, all of them tied by Triest rectangular cancels dated “23/2”, some vague soiling on the strip at top and a horizontal file fold away from the adhesives but otherwise fault-free and very well preserved, a rare and unusual franking, appealing and most desirable. | € 300 | € 300 | Bidding closed |

Austria 1866 envelope sent to Evreux, France and bearing a spectacular 3-COLOUR franking of the 1863/64 coat of arms definitives issue perf. 9½, made up of a pair of the 3kr green, a single of the 5kr rose and a strip of four of the 15kr brown Michel nos. 31, 32 and 34, all tied by Wien c.d.s. in black, the stamps are in overall good condition with only some small perf. flaws at bottom and a corner flaw on the left 3kr stamp at upper left, the cover was taxed on arrival in France and all the appropriate French postmarks are present on both front and back, a superb and very rare franking of utmost appeal and importance. | € 1400 | € 1100 | Make an offer |

Austria – Austro-Hungarian Military Post 1917 large envelope sent to Wildervank, Netherlands and bearing a very rare single franking of the 10kr dark ultramarine high value Michel no. 48A tied by K.U.K. FELDPOSTAMT c.d.s. dated “9.V.17” in black, the stamp is in perfect condition throughout but the envelope has some natural imperfections, the letter has been forwarded to Delft upon arrival in the Netherlands, overall a great item in all respects. | € 300 | € 275 | Bidding closed |

Austrian Levant 5s red postal stationery used in 1884, which was altogether unusual since this type of postcard was officially in use only until the end of 1881, sent locally within Greece, from Syros to Athens, and accepted by the Greek Post as a valid postal sending on its own, although such cards were never intended to be used for domestic mail within Greece, a totally unusual and probably unique postal history item in superb, fault-free condition, accompanied by 1991 Enzo Diena certificate of authenticity, most fascinating. | € 625 | € 500 | Make an offer |
